Homeschooling home > Home schooling information > When should homeschooling parents require the service of a private teacher? Is it recommended?
Normally a private teacher is not needed in homeschooling unless the parent find it difficult to homeschool. This may be due to two reasons either the parent is not having enough time to devote to homeschooling activities or the parent is finding it difficult to teach a particular subject such as art or music. Private tutors however can be very expensive. In some area the rate can amount to $50 per hour and this goes up as the children get in higher class. Fortunately there are some alternatives that exist. For instance if you find that you are lacking time for homeschooling your kids you can try to reorganize your homeschooling schedule. You can try to homeschool during your off days or during the afternoon. Another alternative will be to register your child for online classes. This will allow your kids to be quite independent and to learn during their own time. They should also in this case receive the support of qualified teachers. Cost for such programs should turn around $1000 per year thus making it affordable compared to private tutors. |
