For the proponents of public schools homeschooling does not provide enough opportunities for children to socialize with other peers. In fact there are many homeschooling support groups that now provide socialization activities such as excursions where homeschooled children can meet other people of their age. Moreover Christian kids can make friends within the youth groups of their churches thus providing a socialization possibility. Homeschooling protection from peer pressureIn fact some researchers have proven that children that spend more time with peers can become over dependent on these people. This may eventually lead to lack of self confidence, lack of independent thinking and above all cause a loss of parental influence. It is therefore important that at this moment of their age where they are most vulnerable we, as parents, we guide them to some proper peer groups.
